Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY – HA NOI: COUNTRY FLAVOURS IN THE CITY (Lunch, dinner)

Main activities: Ancient village architecture on the city's edge, folk culture and Ha Noi cuisine.

Pick-up at Noi Bai Airport, then visit:

• Duong Lam Ancient Village: see Mong Phu Gate, the 300-year-old banyan tree and the ancient communal house; try painting on roof tiles or dressing in traditional costume for photos (experiences at own expense).
• A "Bep Lang" (Village Kitchen) meal: lunch featuring mia chicken and laterite-roasted pork.
• Shadow puppetry: stories of historical figures told by oil-lamp light.
• Ha Noi cha ca: dinner of heritage grilled fish with Ba Hanh shrimp paste and 2,000-year-old Mach Trang rice noodles.
• Free time to explore Ha Noi at night: night tours (Hoa Lo Prison "Sacred Night" / Thang Long Imperial Citadel / Temple of Literature Night Tour), traditional therapies at Sen Tai Thu, or egg coffee, Trang Tien ice cream, cold snail noodles and Old Quarter boiled snails…
• Overnight in Ha Noi.

DAY 2: HA NOI – NINH BINH: BACK TO THE ANCIENT CAPITAL – REED FLAG FESTIVAL NIGHT (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Main activities: A traditional herbal-medicine experience, Ninh Binh's scenic wonders and the cultural atmosphere of Hoa Lu Old Town.

Breakfast and depart for Ninh Binh. Visit:

• Sinh Duoc Cooperative: learn about local herbs and make your own herbal soap.
• Pay respects at the magnificent Bai Dinh Pagoda, holder of many Asian records.
• Thung Ui: dress in traditional costume and enjoy a herbal foot soak (around 30 minutes).
• Ancient-capital goat specialties: a mountain goat menu (roasted goat, goat spring rolls, lime-cured goat).
• Hoa Lu Old Town: an evening boat ride, tea with peanut candy, or book the spectacular "Reed Flag Hero" show (at own expense).
• Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Note: seating for the "Reed Flag Hero" show is limited and must be booked in advance.

DAY 3: NINH BINH: SLOW LIVING AMID HERITAGE – A MASTERPIECE OF MOUNTAINS AND RIVERS (Breakfast, lunch)

Main activities: Gliding through a natural heritage site, free time at a heritage-style resort and a taste of street food.

Breakfast, then depart to visit:

• Trang An or Tam Coc: a boat ride among rivers and limestone karsts.
• Countryside cuisine: lunch featuring local specialties.
• Emeralda experiences: dress in traditional costume for photos amid royal-style architecture, cycle around the village or enjoy afternoon tea (at own expense).
• Night food discovery: free time to try unique dishes such as Lotus Pizza or "tipsy" pork raised on herbs and rice-wine mash.
• Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Note: depending on the weather, the rice season begins in late May–early June, lotus season is June–July and water-lily season is October–November each year.

DAY 4: NINH BINH – NOI BAI AIRPORT – HO CHI MINH CITY (Breakfast, dinner)

Main activities: Panoramic heritage views, a natural lake and local specialties before the flight.

Highlights:

• Climb Mua Cave: take the stone steps to the summit for a panoramic view of Tam Coc.
• Visit Tuyet Tinh Coc (Am Tien Cave): a green lake and serene limestone cliffs.
• Taste nhech fish salad: lunch with the local specialty of nhech fish wrapped in forest leaves with roasted rice powder.
• End of the journey: transfer to Noi Bai Airport for the flight back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Pricing for Children

● Under 5: free of service charges (parents pay any extras). 2 adults may bring 1 child under 5; a second child pays the 5-to-under-12 rate plus a single-bed supplement.
● From 5 to under 12: 75% of the adult tour price, no separate bed. 2 adults may bring 1 child aged 5 to under 12; a second child pays a single-bed supplement.
● 12 and over: charged as adults.
● Air, rail and public transport tickets follow the carriers' rules.

Tour Change and Cancellation Policy

- After payment, if you wish to change or cancel the tour, please bring your Travel Ticket, receipt and ID (of the paying guest) to the office where you registered to complete the procedure according to Vietravel's regulations. Alternatively, contact a Vietravel consultant for guidance.
- Cancellation time is counted in working days, Monday to Friday, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays/Tet.
- Change to another tour more than 20 days before departure: free of charge.
- Cancellation or change 15–19 days before departure: 50% of the tour deposit.
- Cancellation or change 12–14 days before departure: 100% of the tour deposit.
- Cancellation 8–11 days before departure: 50% of the tour price.
- Cancellation 5–7 days before departure: 70% of the tour price.
- Cancellation 2–4 days before departure: 90% of the tour price.
- Cancellation within 1 day of departure: 100% of the tour price.

- Cancellation or change 20–24 days before departure: 100% of the tour deposit.
